Solid Oak Garden Benches
Bespoke Outdoor Seating Built to Last
Solid Oak Garden Benches. Award-Winning Design, Built for Decades
Handcrafted in Scotland from carefully selected solid oak, our garden benches combine architectural simplicity with enduring material strength. Designed to live outdoors year-round and age gracefully over time, each bench is made to order to suit its setting.

Our benches were selected for Luke Coleman’s Gold Medal–winning Drakkars Drift garden at the RHS Flower Show Wentworth Woodhouse 2025, reflecting their ability to sit comfortably within high-quality contemporary landscape design.

Whether placed in a private garden, public space or commercial setting, these pieces offer quiet permanence rather than seasonal furniture.

Crafted for Landscape & Life
Out benches bring the elemental beauty of an Oak tree, to a pleasing form that is a practical and stylish addition to your outdoor space and your connection to nature.

Oak’s natural durability means that, with a minimal breathable finish, the wood will age gracefully, silvery greys and soft patina forming over time. This is the beauty of working with real timber.
Commission a Bench to your Specification
While we have a collection of bench forms and cube seating, each bench can be fully made to measure.
Factors we can work with:
-
overall length
-
seat height and depth
-
finish preference
-
site context (under cover, exposed lawn, patio setting)

We’ll work with you to design proportions that feel right for your garden and landscape, ensuring sit-ability as well as aesthetic harmony.

Whether you’re looking for something quietly minimal, robust and statement-making, or contextually tailored to a garden project, we’ll craft a piece that suits your brief.

"The bench is so well made, brings tons of character and architectural interest. I was searching for it for a while, and could not find anything even vaguely comparable with this one. We use it for seating, lying on it looking at the sky and exercise! It is very heavy and tactile, we can’t resist!" [Helen - Ham, UK]

Drakkars Drift Garden
Award-Winning Design at RHS Wentworth Woodhouse 2025
We’re proud that our benches were selected as part of Luke Coleman’s Drakkars Drift garden, which was awarded a Gold Medal at the 2025 RHS Flower Show at Wentworth Woodhouse, one of the most prestigious horticultural events in the UK.

This recognises not just the aesthetic quality and material integrity of the benches, but also their role as thoughtful, functional elements within a larger designed landscape, places for visitors to pause, reflect, and engage with garden space in comfort and quiet contemplation.

Featuring in an award-winning garden like Drakkars Drift underscores our commitment to craftsmanship that stands alongside the best in contemporary landscape design.
Sculptural Cube Benches
Our cube benches are compact in form but generous in presence.
Equally suitable as standalone seats, grouping elements around a fire pit, or as informal dining seating, these pieces draw on a pared-back geometry that shows the hand of the craftsperson through precise lines and angles, whilst celebrating the unique character of each piece of timber

Like all our larger benches, the cubes are made from solid oak, handcrafted to retain the natural rhythm of the material while presenting smooth, tactile planes that age beautifully outdoors.
These benches are especially popular for:
-
terrace or courtyard corners
-
commercial landscape projects
-
architectural gardens

Materials & Craftsmanship
We work exclusively with Scottish oak. Primarily from trees that have been wind-felled or from sustainably managed forests.
All benches are formed by hand using traditional techniques and modern precision craftsmanship, The legs are fitted with a sliding dovetail, producing a joint that will last the test of time.

While oak is naturally robust, we apply finishes that:
-
nurture the grain and colour of the wood
-
enhance natural weather resistance without plastic coating

Every piece is softly sanded and finished by hand, giving furniture that’s tactile, honest and quietly enduring.

FAQ
What timber do you use?
We use carefully selected solid oak sourced from wind-felled trees or sustainably managed forests. Oak is chosen for its exceptional durability, structural integrity and the beautiful patina it develops outdoors over time.

Are these benches suitable for outdoor use year-round?
Yes. Oak performs exceptionally well outdoors and is widely used in landscape settings. Our benches are designed to weather naturally and can remain outside throughout the year.

Can benches be made to custom sizes?
Absolutely. Every bench is made to order and can be tailored in length, depth, height and finish to suit your space or project requirements.

Do you deliver across the UK?
Yes. We deliver nationwide and can advise on access requirements and installation considerations if needed.

Can you give a guide price?
Yes. Prices typically start from £999 for a 1200mm x 400mm x 400mm bench.

Are these benches heavy?
Yes! The typical bench, described above, weights around 150kg. Unlike lightweight garden furniture, these benches are intended as permanent elements within a landscape.
We deliberately add strong handles into the benches to help them be re-positioned as needed. If you would like advice regarding installation and moving them them then do get in touch.
